Intimacy Mode Removal Delays Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal's PS4 Release
Sony of America requested that the mode get removed
XSEED Games had unfortunate news to share on Twitter with fans regarding one of Senran Kagura Burst; Re:Newal's game modes. The action title's Intimacy mode, which allows players to grope and pose the many buxom protagonists found in-game, will no longer be available in the English PlayStation 4 version. The Steam version will be unchanged, as it was only an issue with Sony of America that forced the removal. XSEED says that they ‘’respect the wishes of the platform holder.’’
Interestingly, this forced removal by Sony comes after prior Senran Kagura games on PlayStation consoles had it fully uncensored. XSEED localization producer Tom Lipschultz said the new requirement was due to a ‘’brand new policy.’’ So, similar games will struggle getting lewd modes on the console in the future.
This is seemingly a start of a trend for Sony. PQube Games recently abandoned plans to publish Omega Labyrinth Z due to similar issues getting the okay from Sony of America. It’s also an awkward scenario where the English and Japanese branches of the same company are being inconsistent.
A new release date isn't set yet for Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal, but it's expected to release sometime this fall. A finalized date is expected to be announced ‘’shortly,’’ and XSEED Games thanks fans for their patience in the matter.
