Hardcore Platformer Damsel Out Now on Steam
The challenging platformer is also set to release on consoles early next year
Screwtape Studios' first major release is now available for PC players to purchase. Called Damsel, the challenging platformer is now available on Steam for $19.99 (although it's on-sale until October 26 for just $14.99). The titular character is a special agent that is attempting to go up against corporate vampires that are up to no good, and it's up to her to save hostages and defeat the undead criminals. The game has been in development for several years, and was previously featured at PAX East under the PAX Rising banner.
Damsel's main weaponry are comprised of an ultraviolet shotgun, melee takedowns, and a fast dash attack that allows players to string together combinations. In addition to the tight gameplay, the platformer is built around replayability. As such, each level features a timer and a score counter so players can compete with each other on an online leaderboard. The developer encourages players to experiment with their moves and abilities in order to find the optimal route through each stage.

While the game is only available on PC right now, Screwtape Studios also announced that Mac and Linux versions are on the way. Both of the ports should be released ‘’in the next few weeks.’’ Damsel is also set to come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch in early 2019.
