Cyberpunk 2077 Will Not Be Epic Games Store Exclusive, CDPR Confirms

Fans can heave a sigh of relief — Cyberpunk 2077 will stay on Steam

With more and more PC games becoming exclusive to Epic Games Store, gamers get worried that another upcoming AAA title will be removed from Steam. One of such future hits is Cyberpunk 2077 developed by CD Projekt Red. However, fans need not worry since the developers have confirmed on Twitter that this will not happen to the game.

The last released CDPR’s game, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, did not sell well on launch because of its GOG exclusiveness, as CDPR Joint CEO Adam Kiciński said in a financial call last November.

Not everyone is happy with the way Epic Games is getting exclusives making fans buy a game in the new store or wait for a year when temporary exclusiveness expires. One of such titles to stir the gaming community is Metro Exodus, which is due out on February 15.

Many amers criticized publisher Deep Silver and developer 4A Games for such an unexpected move, some even wanted to boycott the series. The companies had to release an official statement when one of the 4A Games developers said future Metro games would not be released on PC. This was followed with Dmitry Glukhovsky, the author of the Metro books, recording a video in which he askied fans ‘’not to betray’’ the game.
