Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Full Walkthrough: An Old Enemy and a New Ally
Odyssey’s protagonist and Herodotus travel to the cradle of ancient civilization
Having attended the meeting of Kosmos Cult members, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s protagonist has learned a lot about himself, the sect and the mysterious Deimos. Nevertheless, many questions remain: Leonidas’ spear, mother’s location, mysterious triangular crystals. The protagonist hopes that he will find some of the answers at Thermopylae.
Go to Thermopylae – the central area of the Malis region to the east of Phokis – to the huge statue of lion where Leonidas was buried: 50 years ago, he led the Spartan army into the battle against the army of Xerxes. As a reminder, this battle started the game.
Talk to Herodotus: he wants to check the authenticity of your fragment of Leonidas’ spear. Touching the fragment, the heroes will be transported half a century into the past, to the time of Leonidas’ death. At the end of the flashback, ask Herodotus about the circumstances of that battle if you want some historical context.
In Herodotus’ opinion, the spear of Alexios/Kassandra is related to a mysterious place on an Andros island which may indicate existence of an ancient civilization. Therefore, your search for mother and your mission to warn Pericles may wait – you must first investigate the unusual structure.
Sail to the above-mentioned island – it is located to the south-west of Malis at a distance of about 4 in-game kilometers. The journey is long, so you will most likely meet pirates on the way – ignore them if you do not want to make your trip even longer. Going by the sea is the fastest way to reach Andros.
Having arrived at the site, call Icarus and find the entrance to the building of an ancient civilization. This is a large and futuristic iron door that will react to the approach of Leonidas’ spear fragment with another flashback. From this flashback, you’ll learn how the family of the main character is connected with the Spartan king and what gift it possesses.
Once back into reality, attach a spear to the door to open it and get into the ancient forge. Go to the end of the spacious corridor and put the fragment of the weapon in a glowing cavity. The forge will activate and… you will be thrown out of the Animus into the modern world.
Layla Hassan’s colleague named Victoria is worried that the heroine spends too much time in Animus and proposes a rest. There’s nothing exciting in the real world of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, but if you wish, you can dive into the gray days of modern assassins.
The headquarters of Layla’s operations are full of interactive points – references to other games in the series, Easter eggs, conversations with colleagues, a computer full of emails. Explore everything and then get back into Animus to return to ancient Greece.
Thanks to the ancient forge, the protagonist was able to improve his spear – one triangular crystal was required for this task. Further upgrades – Leonidas’ Spear line has now appeared in the menu – will require an increasing number of artifacts that fall out off dead cultists.
Your characteristics improve together with the spear, in particular, the adrenaline scale, which is divided into five cells instead of four when the weapon passes to the next level, allowing you to use skills more often. By the way, skills like Shield Breaker can now be upgraded to the second level.
On the way out of the ancient forge, Deimos will await you. She will have an amazingly peaceful offer – she wants to talk. Climb to the top of the cliff together with your sister/brother and enter the dialogue. None of the decisions that you make during this dialogue will impact the development of events – except for the last one.
Options ‘’I’m going’’ and ‘’You’re still my sister’’ / ‘’You’re still my brother’’ will lead to a relatively peaceful ending of the conversation. The option “Not before I hurt you” will have negative consequences at the final of your adventure.
Having said goodbye to Deimos, go back to Adrestia and tell Herodotus about everything – you need to warn Pericles as soon as possible. At this point, the heroes will go to Athens, and you will get about 6000 experience points for the completion of this mission.
