Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Side Quests Walkthrough: Lakonia

Detailed instruction on how to win the trust of Spartan kings and complete other tasks in the homeland of Odyssey’s protagonist

In this article, we will analyze secondary tasks that can be found on the territory of the Lakonia region in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Quests are listed in order of their appearance and the level of their importance.

One Bad Spartan Spoils the Bunch

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Side Quests Walkthrough: Lakonia-1

  • Given by: Brasidas
  • Reward: experience points, money

This mission accompanies the main storyline task Kings of Sparta. Theoretically, you can miss it and come empty-handed to Spartan rulers, but in this case, you will have to complete three rather than two tasks before Myrrine family can get its citizenship back.

Your task is to find a traitor of Sparta, who tried to equip the helots (agricultural workers who were close to slaves in their status – author), kill him and eliminate weapon supplies. The traitor and his accomplices are located in the marble quarry of Gorani that is located to the south-west of Sparta.

Once you are close enough, call Ikaros and mark all opponents including the traitor – you need to kill only him, eliminate others if necessary. It’s worth noting that your eagle will not be able to mark weapon supplies, so you will have to find them by yourself.

As strange as it may seem, you should start clearing the location from the main entrance – this part of the map has the lowest number of guards. In addition, the traitor that you need often visits this place, so you may have an opportunity to deal with one of the mission tasks at an early stage of the completion of this quest.

Being an elite warrior, the traitor is not an easy opponent, so we advise to fight against him one on one. For this, clear the area in front of the entrance from the other enemies and then lure the captain (for example, by an accurate headshot) or wait until he comes there on his own.

Do not forget to inspect weapon stacks before you destroy them to get additional types of weapons

Having dealt with the traitor, clear the quarry from the enemies so that no one disturbs you in the future, and then go to search the weapon stacks. There are five of them and, as soon as you destroy the first one, the remaining four will become highlighted, facilitating your search:

  1. In a gray tent near the entrance to the quarry.
  2. On a wooden platform in the eastern ‘’corner’’ of the location.
  3. On the lower tier of the quarry, near the wall in the north-east.
  4. In the recess next to the decorated chest on the first ‘’floor’’ at the west of the area.
  5. In the southern ‘’corner’’ of the quarry, under a wooden tower.

The mission will be automatically completed after you have killed the traitor and eliminated the fifth weapon stack.

Bully the Bullies

  • Given by: Myrrine
  • Reward: experience points, money, rare spear

This mission accompanies the main storyline task Kings of Sparta. Theoretically, you can miss it and come empty-handed to Spartan rulers, but in this case, you will have to complete three rather than two tasks before Myrrine family can get its citizenship back.

Go to the tomb of King Leonidas – the grandfather of Alexios/Kassandra and the father of Myrrine – and talk to the mother of the main character there. After a short conversation about the legacy, you’ll have a flashback involving the famous Spartan king and his unwillingness to obey the Kosmos Cult.

Then, Pausanias – one of the two leaders of the modern Sparta – will ask the protagonist to prevent the mutiny of helots by neutralizing three Krypteia soldiers. Pausanias knows where to find two of them, while the information about the location of the third one is limited to a village in the nearby. We’ll start with this village.

Move to the south-east from Sparta until you reach a settlement called Krokeai. Call Ikaros and mark the Krypteia soldier – he will be standing on a hill and getting through a fiery speech. He has no guards, so you can simply shoot him from afar, sneak behind the back to make a surprise attack or excite the crowd.

The next one is located in the house of the Spartan leader on the north of the capital of Lakonia. Call Icaros to mark all enemies in the nearby – most often, your target stands in the center of the courtyard, alone. Climb the roof of the building to get some tactical space.

Anyway, one powerful shot from a bow (use a special arrow, a Devastating Shot skill and the hunter damage of the third level) or a powerful surprise attack should be sufficient enough to complete the task.

The last enemy is the most problematic one as he is located in the well-guarded fort of Praisai. The good news is that you only have one person to kill. The bad news is that the murder will most likely raise the alarm, and the enemies there are of at least 34th level.

Focus your efforts on killing the Krypteia soldier – you can start in a stealth mode – and once the task is completed, run away at full speed. After your character reaches the 20th level, he does not receive damage when falling from any height – use this feature to your advantage.
