Protect the People

Condition: Defeat all enemies in Mission 01.

There is only one hidden enemy in the first mission. When you descend from the destroyed bridge, make sure to turn around to notice Red Empusa near the Blue Orb Fragment. You’ll meet other opponents including Qliphoth’s sprouts along the way.

Where the Red Orbs Grow

Condition: Collected Red Orbs from an unexpected spot in Mission 02.

After the encounter with the first enemies in the second mission, pay attention to the fact that the street forks. The right side goes into some alley where you’ll meet Red Empusa. Go there, kill that Empusa and jump through the hole in the building. Destroy red crystals to get Red Orbs and the achievement.

Reunion

Condition: Clear Mission 03.

Impossible to miss.

Backroad

Condition: Destroy a certain wall in Mission 04.

In the fourth chapter, after you have crossed the bridge where you need to destroy the blood clot, follow through the building with the first Purple Orb Fragment. You’ll be attacked by a big enemy group outside of this building. Press F to summon Nightmare so that he breaks out of the nearby building and destroys the wall.

Break a Leg

Condition: Fend off a menace from above in Mission 05.

The threat from above is a huge tentacle that destroys the roof of the building with a large ship. You’ll face such tentacles several times in the fifth chapter. The first one will appear at the very beginning, when you go upstairs and destroy the blood clot. You won’t miss it. Attack tentacles until you destroy the entire stock of health points. A round scale will be visible when the target is captured on Shift.

End of the Line

Condition: Clear Mission 06.

Impossible to miss.

Share the Pain

Condition: Clear Mission 07 with both Nero and V.

Impossible to miss.

Eagle-Eyed

Condition: Destroy a certain wall in Mission 09.

In the ninth chapter, move forward and kill the first Behemoth. Having eliminated the creature, go straight forward without turning anywhere, jump onto the stone ledges and find yourself at a dead end. A Gold Orb is behind the wall that blocks your way. Summon Nightmare so that he destroys the wall.

This Ain’t Over

Condition: Clear Mission 10.

Impossible to miss.

Don’t Mess with the Best

Condition: Use proper timing to get a leg up in a close-quarters battle against the boss in Mission 11.

Equip Devil Sword Sparda and switch to Swordmaster (X key). Attack the enemy at the moment when he swings and tries to hit Dante.

The Qliphoth

Condition: Clear Mission 12.

Impossible to miss.

Each In His Own Way

Condition: Clear Mission 13 with Nero, V, and Dante.

It’s simple: complete the mission three times, choosing different characters.

Gotta Hurry

Condition: Clear Mission 14.

Impossible to miss.

Slick Moves

Condition: Proceed with caution and avoid unneeded damage in Mission 15.

To get this achievement, you’ll need to complete the mission while avoiding traps along your way. You won’t get the achievement if you receive damage from any of these traps. The road forks in three places.

Here are our recommendations:

  • At the first fork, move down the slope and use Gerbera to climb higher. Do not move through the corridors with spikes.
  • Go to the left from the statue of goddess. You’ll face knights with shields on your way. You are not allowed to receive damage from them, but you can easily jump over these opponents.
  • The third fork will be located at the second statue of goddess. Run past the enemies and move forward. Do not use the dark grip on the right as there’ll be no traps here.

Obedience Training

Condition: Go on the offensive without relying on brute force in the Mission 16 boss battle.

You cannot use the demon form gauge in this battle. Attack the enemy in your ordinary human form. This trophy is activated at a random time during the battle. This will happen only during the battle, not after it is completed. If the trophy has not appeared, restart the mission from the checkpoint.

Back to Life

Condition: Clear Mission 17.

Impossible to miss.

Man on a Mission

Condition: Clear Mission 18.

Impossible to miss.

Battle for the Ages

Condition: Clear Missions 19 and 20 without using continues (any difficulty except Heaven or Hell).

You need to complete both chapters without losing to Vergil (do not use Red Orbs or Gold Orbs).

Not Too Shabby

Condition: Perform a Stylish Rank S combo.

Read the Seriously Stylish Slaying! description.

Steppin’ up the Style

Condition: Perform a Stylish Rank SS combo.

Read the Seriously Stylish Slaying! description.

Seriously Stylish Slaying!

Condition: Perform a Stylish Rank SSS combo.

You will surely earn a high combo rating playing for V. You’ll have most chances on the high difficulty level when your enemies will have plenty of health points. Just attack the opponents using Shadow and Griffon, and do not forget to press Shift and Space to perform various tricks. You can also unlock the skill that allows you to get on Nightmare’s shoulder and control the creature.

The Quick and the Dead

Condition: Defeat 5 enemies in 1 second.

The ideal place to unlock the trophy is the beginning of the second chapter. Select Human mode or Heaven or Hell mode. You need to equip Devil Breaker Helter Skelter. Kill the first trio of enemies so that five more appear. Gather them around Nero, then hold the mouse wheel to activate the special attack. It is possible that you’ll fail to kill everyone straight away, so be prepared to restart the game from the last control point.

Demon Destroyer

Condition: Defeat 1,000 enemies total.

You’ll surely kill the specified number of enemies in two playthroughs.

Rearm and Repeat

Condition: Collect more than 100 Devil Breakers during missions.

You’d be better off using the ability to restart the game from the control point. The best farming place is Mission 15. Go to the first statue of goddess. Go behind the statue and watch the cutscene in which you’ll see a Blue Orb Fragment. In this part, you’ll also have to search for the secret mission. The location has 6-7 Punch Line Devil Breakers. Collect them and destroy by pressing Z, then load the last checkpoint. Repeat until you unlock the achievement.

Dante the Gambler

Condition: Use more than 500,000 Red Orbs total with Dr. Faust.

First, you need to collect 500,000 Red Orbs and then spend them, holding RMB. You can first create a back-up copy of your saves so that you don’t waste the in-game currency. Dr. Faust hat will be automatically obtained in Mission 13.

Who Needs Weapons Anyway?

Condition: Clear Mission 11 without equipping a weapon set for Dante (any difficulty except Heaven or Hell).

First, complete the game on Son of Sparda mode, and then beat it on Dante Must Die mode. In the first case, you’ll unlock a new Dante’s skill that is sold in the store for 100 Red Orbs. It allows you to get rid of all your weapons. On the other hand, Dante cannot attack solely with his arms, so you’ll need to complete the game on Dante Must Die mode to unlock the Super Dante consume which will provide you with unlimited Devil Trigger supply.

Here’s a brief instruction on what you should do after completing the game on Dante Must Die mode:

  1. Launch Mission 11 on Human mode.
  2. Choose Super Dante costume.
  3. Buy the skill that allows you to remove all your weapons.
  4. Remove all close-range and long-range weapons through the shop.

Unarmed and Dangerous

Condition: Beat Mission 07 without any starting Devil Breakers equipped (any difficulty except Heaven or Hell).

Ideally, you should start the game on Human mode. Choose Nero in Mission 07. Remove all Devil Breakers during customization. You’ll be able to use the standard weapon set or use Devil Breakers found during the mission. The main thing is to start the mission without a single Devil Breaker.

Pet Protection

Condition: Clear Mission 05 without V’s demons getting stalemated (any difficulty except Heaven or Hell).

The only truly difficult moment in this mission is the boss battle. You must act in such a way that the enemy cannot destroy Shadow or Griffon. Two purple gauges in the left part of the screen represent the health supply of both V’s demons. Do not forget about one important function: when you summon Nightmare, Griffon’s and Shadow’s health points are completely restored.

Do not forget to buy skills that enhance Shadow and Griffon, as well as the skill that increases the duration of Nightmare’s actions (reduces the consumption of demonic energy when he is activated).

I Believe I Can Fly

Condition: Rack up a total of 60 minutes in the air by jumping or other means.

You’ll most likely unlock this trophy in a natural way during the first playthrough so don’t waste your attention on it.

Nothing’s Impossible

Condition: Acquire all of Nero’s skills.

You’ll need about 4-5 million Red Orbs to unlock all Nero’s skills. Do not rush to spend them. First, make a backup save so that you can use the same Orbs to unlock skills for Dante and V. This is the easiest way to get all three related achievements.

Be the Legend

Condition: Acquire all of Dante’s skills.

Read Nothing’s Impossible description.

Demon Breeder

Condition:Acquire all of V’s skills.

Read Nothing’s Impossible description.

Physical Perfection

Condition: Upgrade your vitality gauge to max.

You need to buy six Blue Orbs in the shop, complete all 12 secret missions and find 20 Blue Orb Fragments during the game. More on this in separate guides – ‘’Where to Find All Blue Orb Fragments’’ and ‘’Secret Missions Walkthrough’’.

The Devil’s Own

Condition: Upgrade your Devil Trigger Gauge to max.

You’ll need to buy five Purple Orbs in the shop and find eight Purple Orb Fragments during the game. Read More on Purple Orb Fragments in a separate guide ‘’Where to Find All Purple Orb Fragments’’.

A New Job

Condition: Accept a new job from Morrison after the Red Grave incident.

You’ll be allowed to kill enemies during final credits. Kill as many opponents as you can to activate two bonus cutscenes at the end of the game and unlock this trophy.

Silver achievements

Dance with the Devil

Condition: Complete the game on Dante Must Die mode.

Read the Highway to Hell description.

Stairway to Heaven

Condition: Complete the game on Heaven or Hell mode.

Read the Highway to Hell description.

Secrets Exposed

Condition: Clear all secret missions.

We have discussed them in detail in a separate guide ‘’Secret Missions Walkthrough’’.

Jackpot!

Condition: Collect more than 1,000,000 Red Orbs total.

You’ll most likely collect the required number of Red Orbs during two playthroughs.

Hell of a Hunter

Condition: Clear all missions with S rank.

To get this achievement, you need to get S rank in each of the 20 missions and the prologue. The level of difficulty does not matter: the first five may be completed with S rank on Dante Must Die mode, the next five on Human mode, others on Son of Sparda mode and so on. In missions where you can choose one of the two or three characters, you need to get S rank while playing for one of them.

Gold achievements

Highway to Hell

Condition: Complete the game on Hell and Hell mode.

This is the highest difficulty level in the game. Here’s the list of all difficulty modes:

  • Human. Enemies have 100% health and deal 100% damage.
  • Devil Hunter. Enemies have 200% health and deal 200% damage. Son of Sparda mode is unlocked after the completion of Devil Hunter.
  • Son of Sparda. Enemies have 400% health and deal 400% damage. Opens access to Dante Must Die mode and the ability to edit Dante’s weapons.
  • Dante Must Die. Enemies have 800% health and deal 800% damage. They act more aggressively. Unlocks Heaven or Hell mode and Hell and Hell mode. You also get an unlimited supply of Devil Breakers.
  • Heaven or Hell. You and your opponents die from the first blow.
  • Hell and Hell. Only your character dies from the first blow. Checkpoints are switched off. You have three resurrections per one mission. Enemy difficulty is the same as in Son of Sparda mode (400% health, 400% damage).

To facilitate the task, you can use super costumes that provide you with the unlimited Devil Trigger gauge. They become available after you have completed the game on Dante Must Die mode. There’s a very important nuance: using infinite demonic energy excludes the possibility of obtaining S rank. To get the achievement Worthy of Legend, you’ll need to complete all missions with S rank on Hell and Hell mode.

One more tip: playing as Nero, try to take more Ragtime Devil Breakers as they allow you to freeze opponents who will become completely harmless for the following few seconds.

Well I’ll Be Damned

Condition: Wield overwhelming power to exact an unexpected conclusion.

You will see this ending in the case when you complete the prologue of the game by defeating Urizen. It’s best done in Heaven or Hell mode which allows you to kill the boss with one blow. It also allows you to see the secret ending of the game. We have discussed it in detail in a separate guide ‘’How to Unlock the Secret Ending in Devil May Cry 5’’. However, there’s a chance to eliminate the enemy on the Human mode. For this, you need to destroy the red crystal and then attack the stunned Urizen. He will restore the crystal after some time, so you’ll have to destroy it again.

Worthy of Legend

Condition: Clear all missions with S rank on all difficulties except Heaven or Hell.

Each difficulty level includes 20 storyline missions and a prologue. There are five difficulty levels (not counting Heaven or Hell), and you’ll have to complete 21 chapters in each of them. Thus, you’ll have to beat 105 missions while obtaining the S rank.

The prologue is the most difficult mission for getting S rank as you’ll have to defeat Urizen each time. The surest way to get S rank is to complete the mission without taking a single hit. Thanks to this, you’ll get a x2.20 multiplier. You’ll also get a x1.20 multiplier that is obtained when you do not restart the game from the control point (you do not die). Even if you are not able to do combos, you are guaranteed to receive S rank.

Here’s what can decrease your rank:

  • The use of super costumes (unlimited Devil Trigger gauge supply) — -80%, which completely eliminates your chances of obtaining S rank.
  • The use of auto combos — -20%.
  • The use of Gold Orbs for resurrection – the more often it happens, the greater the penalty.
  • The use of the control point – cancels x1.20 multiplier.
  • Getting at least one hit in the mission – cancels x2.20 multiplier.
