How to Unlock the Secret Ending in Devil May Cry 5

It turns out that Devil May Cry 5 has a secret ending. Below, we’ll discuss what you need to do to get it

Games of the DMC series always had many secrets and Easter eggs that forced you to show your best skills. Devil May Cry 5 is not an exception – you can get the secret ending almost from the very beginning of the game. Recently, this approach has become quite popular — just recall Far Cry 5.

In the prologue of the game, we play as Nero who has lost his demonic arm. Closer towards the end of the introductory chapter, you’ll fight against the main antagonist of the game – the Demon King Urizen. Sitting on his throne, Urizen looks completely self-confident, uses many powerful attacks and remains invincible thanks to the bright orange crystal.

If you are playing the game for the first time, Nero will be really weak – that’s why V offers Nero to run away and gain strength. The main condition to get the secret ending is to kill Urizen at the end of the prologue. This is a very difficult task, and we do not recommend trying to defeat the enemy during your first walkthrough.

Instead, we advise you to complete the game and then launch the prologue at the minimum level of difficulty to try and kill Urizen. We warn you that even in this case the task is really challenging. To deal damage to Urizen, you need to destroy the above-mentioned crystal. Having done this for the first time, immediately attack the boss. After a few seconds, Urizen will restore the crystal and start acting much more aggressively. For example, instead of one luminous seal that releases an energy beam, you’ll have to deal with two – and jump over them.

Nero’s demonic form that is obtained after the completion of the game is extremely important. You will use to at least partially replenish your health points. If you do not have this form, you’ll have no chances against Urizen.

Alternatively, you can complete the game a couple of times, increasing the difficulty level, and unlock the Heaven and Hell difficulty modes. In this mode, both Nero and his opponents die from one hit or shot. Thus, you can use it against Urizen to instantly defeat him and enjoy the final cutscene.
